What is a choice based Lettings scheme?
What is a choice based Lettings scheme?
These schemes have replaced the old Council 'waiting lists'. They aim to give you more information and choice about where you want to move.
Kent Homechoice and Sussex Homemove are examples of choice-based lettings schemes. There are also schemes in place in London and Surrey. Your local council will be able to provide you with details.
Choice-based lettings schemes are for all people in the area who want to apply for housing. They are also for people who already live in housing association or Council homes but need to move.
Once you have registered, you are given a priority band. You can bid (register an interest) to live in properties that you are interested in. You can bid through a dedicated website, by telephone or text, or by using special coupons. You can view the properties over the internet or go into your local authority offices, local libraries and help-point offices. You may also be able to do it at your local AmicusHorizon office. If you would like more details on this please Contact us.

AmicusHorizon's partnership with Peabody Selections service
Peabody welcomes the partnership and is more than happy to assist AmicusHorizon in bringing choice to it's residents.
Peabody's Selection service is now available to AmicusHorizon residents. The three month pilot launches on Thursday 29 September giving AmicusHorizon access to bidding for their properties online for the first time. This opportunity paves the way for future collaborative working between both registered housing providers. Click here to see what available via Selections.
Bidding changes to Kent Homechoice
From 1 April 2011 we are changing the times you can bid for homes on Kent Homechoice. Bidding will start at 8:00am on Friday 1 April, and close at 1:00pm on Wednesday 6 April. The next bidding cycle will start at 8:00am on 15 April and close at 1:00pm on Wednesday 20 April. The process will then continue in this pattern.
This means you can start bidding earlier, but bidding will also close five days earlier. We receive most bids in the first few days. By reducing bidding times we can help people move into their new homes quicker.
