Equipment and adaptations
If you are frail or elderly and finding it hard to get around your home, we may be able to make things easier.
Wherever possible, we will provide equipment and adaptations to help people stay independent. The type of equipment that we can fund varies, depending on individual needs, but typically includes things like:
- Grab rails to help you get into or out of your home
- Extra stair rails to give additional support
- Raising electric sockets, so that you don't need to bend down as much
- Providing lever taps and handles, which are easier to use if you suffer from arthritis or stiff joints.
If you need help and would like to know what support is available, please complete the relevant form below.

Sussex - Equipment & adaptations form
London & Surrey - Equipment & adaptations form
Or you can contact us for advice. We can make sure that your needs are assessed, either by a member of our team or another professional (such as a doctor or occupational therapist). We will then tell you whether you qualify for any work to be done.

If your home needs large-scale improvements, such as an extension, chair lift, you should contact your local council and ask about disabled facilities grants. If you need support with your application, or would benefit from advice on sources of equipment and funding, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
